Dizin is the biggest ski resort in Iran and the Middle East. It is the most recognizable resort in Iran which is confirmed by the International Ski Federation. Dizin ski resort is located 123 km north of Tehran. The resort has included 4 cable cars, 2 Chairlifts, and 9 ski lifts to help visitors go uphill. There are also various slopes that give an option for backcountry skiing. Also, there are a lot of off-piste places for skiing which are recommended only for more experienced people. The average slope is 25 to 30 degrees but can go higher up to 50 degrees.

Shemshak – The Second Biggest Ski Resort in Iran
Shemshak ski resort is the second biggest ski resort in Iran and is located close to Tehran similar to Dizin. Shemshak ski resort is considered rather a more professional site. The slope of Shemshak ski resort is greater than that of the Dizin but it’s less crowded. Less than a two-hour drive is needed from Tehran to reach Shemshak and enjoy its unique landscape. Abali – Oldest ski resort in Iran

Tochal ski resort
In the race for being close to Tehran, it’s probably Tochal that wins the title as it’s only 5 kilometers away from Tehran. Tochal has one of the longest cable car lines in the world with a length of 7.5 km. Darbandsar is rather a low crowded ski resort even during the peak of the skiing season. At the highest point, the resort is 3050 m above sea level. The best time to ski in Darbandsar ski resort is in the middle of December to the middle of April. Proper facilities and new equipment make Darbandsar a suitable Iran ski tour destination.

Pooladkaf ski resort
Pooladkaf ski resort has one major difference with other ski resorts mentioned before. It’s not in Tehran Province. Pooladkaf ski resort is one of the biggest ski resorts in Iran, located in Fars province and 80 km north of Shiraz. Pooladkaf is unique because it’s a four-season resort. the skiing season starts in December to the end of March and April. But in non-skiing seasons, Pooladkaf is still operating and open, therefore it is worth to mark the map if you’re planning for an Iran ski tour. Pooladkaf ski resort is 2850 m above sea level, and if you want to climb to the peak by car cable, you can go up to 3400 m. Pooladkaf has an average slope of 35 degrees and a 3.5 km path to ski.

Sahand ski resort
The last ski resort in the list is Sahand ski resort. Sahand ski resort is located in the northwest of Iran, 39 km southeast of Tabriz (just forty minutes’ drive from the city). Tabriz has a humid continental climate with an average temperature lower than that of the most cities in Iran. It has cold winters, and Sahand, one of the highest peak mountains of Iran is deeply covered in snow during winter and fall. skiing is possible for 3 months of the year. the length of the resort is 1200 m. the skiing season starts in January and ends in March or April, but the piste is operational for 6 months.
